1. Introduction & scope
This Cookies Policy (“Policy”) describes how Basantile (“we”, “us”, “our”) uses cookies and similar tracking technologies on basantile.com (the “Site”). It supplements, and forms part of, our Privacy Policy and Terms of Use, both of which are incorporated by reference.
By accessing or continuing to use the Site, you confirm that you have read, understood, and accepted this Policy. Where consent is required under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and other applicable Indian law (collectively, “Applicable Law”), your continued use of the Site after notice of this Policy constitutes free, specific, informed, unconditional, and unambiguous consent to the use of cookies and similar technologies as described below, save for any consent that must be given by separate affirmative action under Applicable Law.
If you do not agree to the use of cookies on the Site, you should disable cookies in your browser before continuing or stop using the Site. Doing so may impair certain functionality, as described in Section 7 below.
2. What cookies are
“Cookies” are small text files that a website places on your device so it can recognise the device on subsequent visits, remember preferences, secure form submissions, and operate reliably. The same family of mechanisms includes browser local storage, session storage, IndexedDB, web beacons, pixel tags, software-development-kit identifiers, and similar technologies (collectively, and together with classical HTTP cookies, “Cookies”).
Where this Policy refers to “Cookies”, the term covers all of these technologies and not only classical HTTP cookies. Cookies may be set by us directly (“first-party Cookies”) or by a third-party service whose content the Site loads (“third-party Cookies”).
3. Lawful basis & consent
We rely on the following lawful bases for the use of Cookies, in line with the DPDP Act and the SPDI Rules:
- Strictly-necessary Cookies are deployed without separate consent because they are essential to operating the Site, securing form submissions, and providing the service you have specifically requested (for example, submitting a contact or quote form). Disabling them will leave the relevant functionality unusable;
- Functional Cookies are deployed on the basis of your consent, which you provide by continuing to use the Site after notice of this Policy. You may withdraw consent at any time by clearing site data or blocking cookies in your browser, as described in Section 7;
- Third-party services that may set Cookies or similar identifiers are loaded for security, anti-abuse, and content-delivery purposes; their use is governed by both this Policy and the privacy and cookie policies of the relevant third-party providers, which apply directly to you.
4. Categories of Cookies we use
We use Cookies for the following limited purposes:
- Strictly necessary — to protect form submissions against cross-site request forgery (CSRF), to maintain transient state during a single browsing session, and to operate the security and anti-abuse measures applied to public-facing forms;
- Functional — to remember small interface choices that improve your experience (for example, to suppress an announcement banner you have already closed, or to retain a filter selection during a back-button navigation);
- Security & integrity — to detect and prevent automated abuse, scraping, and fraudulent submissions, including through reCAPTCHA tokens issued for the contact and quote forms (see Section 6).
We do not currently deploy advertising Cookies, retargeting pixels, cross-site tracking, behavioural-profiling Cookies, or third-party analytics Cookies that build a marketing profile of you. If we introduce any such category, this Policy will be updated before the change takes effect, and any consent required under Applicable Law will be sought separately.
6. Third-party services
The Site loads certain assets and services from third-party providers. These providers may set their own Cookies, log your IP address, or otherwise process limited information about your device and browsing context, even where they do not set a Cookie on our domain. The processing carried out by such providers is governed by their own privacy and cookie policies, which apply directly to you and over which we have no direct control.
- Google reCAPTCHA — deployed on the contact form and the quote-request form to detect and prevent automated abuse, spam, and fraud. reCAPTCHA may set Cookies, read existing Cookies, and collect hardware and software information (such as device and application data) which is sent to Google for analysis. Use of reCAPTCHA is subject to Google's Privacy Policy and Terms of Service;
- Google Fonts (
fonts.googleapis.com·fonts.gstatic.com) — serves the typefaces used across the Site. Google may log requests for anti-abuse and aggregated analytics purposes; Google's own privacy policy applies; - jsDelivr (
cdn.jsdelivr.net) — serves Alpine.js, the small JavaScript library that powers the mega-menu and slide-out filter panel; - Hosting, security, and content-delivery providers — the platforms that host the Site and protect it from attack may issue ephemeral identifiers or Cookies for routing, load-balancing, and security purposes.
If you would prefer that these third-party requests do not occur, a content blocker such as uBlock Origin can prevent them. The Site will continue to render, but typography, certain interactive components, and security-sensitive forms (such as the contact form) may degrade or fail. We accept no liability for any loss of functionality, error, or other consequence arising from the use of any content or ad blocker.
7. What we do not do
- We do not deploy third-party advertising or remarketing pixels (no Meta Pixel, no Google Ads tag, no LinkedIn Insight tag);
- We do not sell, trade, or share Cookie data with marketing platforms, ad networks, or data brokers;
- We do not engage in device-fingerprinting, cross-site tracking, or session-replay recording;
- We do not use Cookies to construct a behavioural profile of you for advertising or for sale to any third party.
8. Your controls
You can control Cookies in any of the following ways:
- In your browser — every modern browser provides settings to view, block, or clear Cookies (Chrome: Settings › Privacy and Security; Safari: Preferences › Privacy; Firefox: Settings › Privacy & Security). You may choose to clear Cookies on browser close, block third-party Cookies entirely, or delete site data for basantile.com specifically;
- On your device — most operating systems include privacy tools that allow you to opt out of cross-site tracking system-wide;
- Through third-party tools — content blockers, privacy-focused browsers, and tracker-blocking extensions can prevent third-party Cookies from being set or third-party assets from being loaded.
If you block strictly-necessary Cookies, the contact form and quote request will not submit, and security and anti-abuse measures may be unable to operate. The Catalog itself will continue to render. We are not responsible for any loss, damage, or impairment of functionality resulting from your decision to disable, block, or delete Cookies.
9. Changes to this Policy
We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to amend, modify, supplement, or replace this Policy at any time, including in response to changes in Site functionality, the third-party services we rely on, or Applicable Law. Any change takes effect upon publication on the Site, and the “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Your continued use of the Site after a change has been published constitutes your acceptance of the revised Policy. Where a change materially expands the categories of Cookies used or the purposes for which they are used, we will, where required by Applicable Law, seek fresh consent.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by Applicable Law, our liability arising out of or in connection with this Policy, the use of Cookies on the Site, or the act or omission of any third-party provider whose content the Site loads is governed by, and limited in accordance with, the Limitation of Liability section of our Terms of Use, which is incorporated into this Policy by reference. Without limiting the foregoing, we are not liable for the privacy practices, data-handling, or Cookies of any third-party provider, whose own policies apply directly to you. Nothing in this Policy limits or excludes any liability that cannot be limited or excluded under Applicable Law.
11. Governing law & jurisdiction
This Policy and any non-contractual obligation arising out of or in connection with it are governed by the laws of the Republic of India. The courts at New Delhi have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute, claim, or proceeding arising out of or in connection with this Policy, subject to the dispute-resolution and grievance-redressal mechanisms set out in our Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.
